There are 500 golf courses on the island of Ireland, of which one in five can be found in Northern Ireland. The selection of links golf is impressive, and they represent the finest of island's courses. Royal Portrush is back on The Open rota and together with another Northern Irish classic - Royal County Down - is always mentioned whenever the world's most prestigious courses are discussed.
Excellent links courses are available everywhere, so the island offers a destination for many links trips. In 2021, there was a wonderful addition to the links courses when the Tom Doak-designed St. Patrick's (pictured) finally opened at Rosapenna Resort in the north-west of Ireland.
